How to apply foundation and powder for crossdressers

Alrighty my crossdressing girls, in here I’m going to tell you all about putting on a good foundation, cream color and powder to your face. We girls can have a lot of lines, pock marks and so on that need to be covered up like Spackle! The whole point is to make your face look smooth, one uniform color and as a base to add any color like blush or eye highlights.

Now, as I said in another page about shaving, you need to have a very good shaved face. If you did not read it please do so. Ok, you have a nice shaved face and cleaned it real good. The first thing you need to apply is what many call beard cover. It is a paste, almost like cream foundation but thicker and harder. It is a lot like white clown face paste. It can be white, colored or even pink.

Take small dabs of it and dot your beard area with it. That is your neck, chin, jawline and most of your cheeks. Anywhere you have hair you shave. Make dots about an inch apart. Then take your fingers or a cosmetic sponge and smooth it all out, blending it all into each other. What it does is hide the shadow of your hair and smooth out your skin, filling in small holes and open pores.

Next is the foundation. Now use CREAM foundation, NOT liquid! Liquid will make your face look awful, trust me. We crossdressers need to keep layers on our face, not liquid. Picking a good shade is a trial and error process. Try to get a close match to your own color skin, or a shade lighter. Never get a shade darker than your natural skin.

With fingers or cosmetic sponge use a blotting and patting motion to apply the foundation all over your face. That means everywhere, your whole neck down to your “cleavage”, your outer ears, chin, nose, around your eyes, including your eyelids. Cheeks, forehead, across your brows, anyplace that shows. Blend it all in, taking your time. Don’t put too much on at once. Then repeat once or twice more, making a nice, uniform skin tone all over your face that’s nice and smooth.

The next step is putting on a powder. The powder is very important. It will really smooth out any lines or unevenest, get rid of any shiny spots on your face and help “hold” everything. Use a loose powder, not compressed. Use a powder puff brush. Put a little on it and start from your forehead down using “patting” motions. Don’t rub it, or drag it across your face. Make sure you go everywhere, your ears, neck and down to where your dress will begin.

Leave it on for about 5 minutes to set. Then taking a big powder brush lightly brush down your face, removing any loose powder. In case you did not know by now, you put your wig on AFTER all your makeup is done! I do all this in my undies or an old shirt. Don’t worry about getting the powder on your brows, eyelashes and lips. We will cover those in a different post.

That’s it, you now have a nice, smooth face that is a uniform color. It is now all ready for blush, highlights, eye shadow, eyeliner, brow color, lipstick and eyelash color. Like a cake ready for the neat decorations! All those are covered in a different page. Now some tips.

Use good brand name products. Any women’s brand name makeup is fine. DON’T use the dollar store crap or the kids play makeup please! For the beard cover go to some of the cosmetic stores in my shopping mall, or try places like Ritzy rags, a transgender store. A lot of the brand name department stores have it too. Make sure you blend everything in, never putting on too much at a time. Now go to my page on putting the other touches on your face for a pretty you!
