Hello all you crossdressing sissy boys! Today I thought I’d give some tips on how to pick out a great wig. You can’t look like a real woman without a good wig.

If you want to look great, you need a good wig. Most of us can’t grow our hair down to our shoulders. Plus men’s hair just does not seem to look as good as a girls. That’s where a great looking wig comes in. The first one I ever got was at a party store.

You know, those $8.99 cheapo ones in a plastic bag! Needless to say it lasted about 10 days. Do NOT buy a wig at a costume or party store. they are very cheap and look like fiber optic strands. Buy one from a good wig or cross-dressing store. Some adult stores carry good ones too, I got my last one from an adult place. (I was just getting something for a friend I swear!)

Now then, just what are wigs made of? Well some are made of real human hair. These look the most realistic, but they do not last as long as synthetic hair. They also cost a LOT! So for the most part you look for a good synthetic wig. Most good wig stores carry good quality wigs.

So now you have to decide what color you want, and what style. For color you have to keep in mind your eyebrow color and body color. I myself would love to wear a blond wig, but I look terrible in them. Black is what looks the best on me.

If you have fair skin and body hair, a lite color works great. For dark skin and body hair go with darker colors. Of course if you just want to have fun and stand out go with whatever you want, get a neon pink one with purple high lites!!

Ok, now for a style. Everyone seems to want long wigs. Long wigs do a great job of hiding a lot. They cover your ears, your own hair, and can even make a man’s long neck less noticeable. A nice wavy long style is the most popular. The drawbacks of a long one is, they are hotter than hell!

It is amazing how hot a wig is. Since we use a lot of makeup the last thing we want is to start sweating and look like a cake that sat out in the sun! Also the long hair tends to stick to your thick makeup so you have to keep brushing it back.

So that brings us to the mid length wigs. I myself like these the most. They still cover you up well, while letting your earrings show (you DO wear those, right)! They come in the most colors and styles, from straight to very curly. They are not as hot, and you don’t get as much hair blown into your perfectly painted face!

Short ones are not for us, only a real girl can look good with a short wig, so don’t bother. Ok, so you got your wig, now what? Well first, get a wig cap. That is a thin cap that goes over your own hair. It smooths out your head, plus keeps oils from your hair getting into the wig. They are cheap so buy a dozen.

Ok, you have the cap on, and you already applied your makeup. Yes, do all your makup first, you put the wig on last! Hold it upside down and shake it a bit to loosen the curls, holding onto the edge of the rim. Bend down, slide it over and back. Then while still holding it swing upright fast so the hair flows back and not over your face.

Now you can look at yourself in the mirror. Wow, what a beautiful lady! The first time you see yourself in a wig is fantastic. Pull the very back of the wig down firmly to where you want it. It takes practice to find out how far back you want it. Be careful not to smudge your makeup.

Now use a brush or comb to get it where you want it, and that’s it! You should wash it after every 12 times or so by hand in mild shampoo or a wig cleaner. Depending on how often you use it, a good wig last 6 months to a year. Do NOT try to dye a wig, synthetic fiber does not dye and it will just be a mess.
